Free downloadable NOKIA ringtones have searched the 'net' & contacted others in an effort to get the honest 'low-down' on the use of the NOKIA Music Player (NMP)We figure that this is another mode of communication via your NOKIA cell phone so we'll try and present another opinion on this technology.
General Comments: phone to use as a hands free kit, fm radio. It has a small memory (only comes with 32mb card) and you can only upgrade to a 64mb card. With the Nokia Music Player you can take your favorite music with you wherever you go. Featuring a built-in FM radio (OK, but quality could be better), a digital music player and functioning at the same time as a hands-free headset, the Music Player is the perfect companion to the Nokia 3310, 3330, 8210, 8250, 8850 and 8890 mobile phones (See full list below). The Nokia Music Player can play digital rights management (DRM) protected music in AAC format, in some 20 formats in all including wav, mp3 & media player. The Nokia Music player sales packet contains a 32 MB removable memory card on which you can store and play AAC and MP3 music files. The 32MB memory card can hold up to one hour of music. Nokia Audio Manager PC software provided in the sales package is easy-to-use and converts your CD's into a high-quality AAC format.Once you have downloaded your files to the unit with the supplied USB cable you're ready to rock and roll. When you're out in the big wide world, the Music Player's built-in display will help you keep track of what you're listening to by showing the available track information, or the channel of the radio station you're tuned into. And if you don't feel like carrying your phone with you, you can still get rhythm - the Music Player is self-powered by a single AAA battery, so you can use it with or without your Nokia mobile phone. The Nokia Music Player also offers a convenient way to make and receive calls. It functions as a hands-free headset so you can answer calls without even touching your phone. And thanks to the built-in microphone, you can use the voice-dialing feature of your phone to just speak the name of the person you want to call while your phone stays in your pocket! And if you're in the middle of your favorite song when you take the call, don't worry - the Music Player will automatically pause the song, and resume again when you hang up.
In Summary
I find the Nokia Music Player being slightly more practical if it was
used by itself, instead
of marrying it with a Nokia phone. My main concern is the
number of cables coming out of the player itself, which does make it
look somewhat messy. But in terms of convenience, being able to take
calls without having to do more than simply press a button is indeed
a great idea.
Also remember to buy a few rechargeable AAA batteries so you can get hrs of listening rather than just the one hr, although one review I read suggested to download the music as a .wav file from your computer:
"Commenting on the small memory, I managed to fit on 17
tracks onto mine with 32Mb memory, also 3-4 minutes per track. Otherwise just buy the 64 Mb card."
